Hiking and Cycling

There are many walks and hikes here in Sestri Levante. There are also several mountain bike trails. One of the walks with breathtaking views of the sea leaves right from the centre in Vico del Bottone, just down the road from us and goes to Punta Manara. The first part is a little steep but then flattens out with a few small climbs and descents. We recommend a pair of trainers and a bottle of water!

Food and Wine

Ligurian cuisine offers many typical recipes including the famous Pesto, a sauce for pasta made with basil, pine nuts, parmesan and pecorino cheese and garlic. Even though the land is quite difficult to cultivate with its terraces, there is still a tradition for a sweet wine called Sciacchetra cultivated in the Cinque Terre. Another well known product from this area is the Ligurian olive oil. In via della Chiusa 70 you will find Frantoio Bo, a local producer. A Sestri Levante you can visit the wine cellars of Cantine Bisson, famous for their prosecco Abissi. You can buy local and other Italian wine from L’Enoteca Grazie in Corso Colombo and from Cantine Bregante in via Unita D’Italia .Per la pasta fresca, pesto and other sauces go to Pastificio Moderno in via XXV Aprile 58. Go to Daneri in via Dante for typical cheeses and cured meats. Rossignotti is the most historical cake shop in town where you can find cakes, sweets and biscuits. For who would like to go further a field, you can visit another Ligurian wine cellar, Cantine Lunae in Castelnuovo Magra, via Palvotristia 2.
